This is a no brainer. You should always have a good, powerful laptop handy. There are tons of things you could, and should be using them for. First off, you always need a way to keep track on inventory and sales. There are tons of programs out there that are perfect for doing that, but if you don’t have a laptop, you’re not going to be able to do that. It also comes in handy in the weeks leading up to the convention. Instead of outsourcing and paying someone to do it for you, you should think about designing and printing graphics to make your booth look good. You’re also going to need to create and print out some price sheets. You’ll look way more professional than the people who write their prices on sticky notes and stick it on their items and professionalism is key when drawing in new customers.
2. Tablets
Tablets come in handy for just about everything when you are vendor on the go. You can use them to keep track of inventory at the highest trafficked time of the day, when you are dealing with so many customers that you can’t keep going back to your laptop. You can also use them to take credit card payments if you have a Square card reader or even PayPal. Being able to take those types of payments is crucial, especially when someone is on the fence about buying something. Offering different payment methods will attract more buyers and also sway people to make more impulse buys.
Tablets are also handy for getting people to sign up for mailing lists on the spot, or allowing them to use the tablet to purchase something on your online store if you are out of stock.

3. Square Card Reader
As stated above, a Square card reader is an awesome and simple way to accept any credit card payments. The actual reader is free after the rebate, and the app to use it is also free. After you make a Square account, you can accept credit card payments from your tablet or smartphone, and all of the money you make is deposited in your bank account at the end of every day, minus a 2.75% convenience fee payable to Square of course. It doesn’t get much easier than that!
4. A PayPal Account
PayPal has always been great for safe online purchases, but more and more major retailers are starting to offer it as a method of payment in person these days. And lucky for you, you can manage your PayPal account from your laptop and tablet that I told you to get as well.
Putting these ideas to use can guarantee that you will see a rise in profit at your next event. Don’t be out-sold by the competition. Conventions are your time to shine, don’t let it go to waste.
