InterDrone Conference Heading to the Rio in Las Vegas

BZ Media and InterDrone founder Ted Bahr is teaming up with CTIA Super Mobility and setting up a drone conference. The conference itself will target drone builders, flyers, and buyers and will take place at the Rio in Las Vegas from September 9th to September 11th. If some of you are unaware of what a exactly a drone is, some other familiar terms used is unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

Over 100 exhibitors at InterDrone plan on flying at this event. Bahr is hoping to make it bigger and better than all of the other conferences that seem to be appearing more and more around him, aiming to have about 3,000 people attend this drone event. Bahr helped BZ Media host seven conferences in 2014. Some including the largest Android developer and independent SharePoint.

During the Conference demonstrators will use overhead photography and videography to display the air crafts during the. Bahr will also be planning education sessions and panels on the books, enough for the anticipated 3,000 people attending the event.

So far more than 85 media and association partners have already agreed to participate at and market InterDrone. The awareness campaign will advertise the conference in 22 different publications by September.

Bahr was also asked how Amazon’s dream of delivering packages using drones will play out in the future. “I’m a little skeptical,” Bahr stated. “I could see them delivering CDs. It seems a little far-fetched, but we’ll see.”

InterDrone will take place from September 9th through September 11th at the Rio in Las Vegas.

GaETC 2015 Brings Together Educators and Tech Professionals

The 2015 Georgia Educational Technology Conference is set to take place from November 4 through November 6 at the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park. The conference has been at the Georgia International Convention Center since 2005 when Vivki Rogers  took over leadership of the event.

The Georgia Educational Technology Conference (GaETC) is an annual event sponsored by the Georgia Educational Technology Consortium, Inc. GaETC is dedicated to the professional development of educators and has played a key part om helping educators at all levels of the system increase their understanding of technology and how it can help with education.

The conference itself provides educators the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in educational technology and offers a place where professionals and educators can discuss topics and ideas and figure out what’s working and what’s not. GaETC offers nearly 250 concurrent sessions, nationally known speakers and presenters, workshops focusing on the latest in technological innovations and software, and over 200 commercial exhibits featuring stat-of-the-art technology.

 Concurrent Sessions

There are three different Concurrent Session Types at GaETC: Concurrent, Smackdown and Trending Tech Topics (T3). Concurrent sessions are formal, one-hour presentations in lecture or demonstration format given to a seated audience. Smackdown is a unique experience that has participants sharing something “techie” that they find valuable in the educational technology market. But be quick as you only have two minutes to speak your piece! Finally, T3 is an informal session that will provide you with an opportunity to gather around people with similar interests and share ideas and resources centering on a current technology trend.

Leadership Strand

Attendees at the Leadership Strand will hear about emerging technology trends, witness how other districts are implementing 21st Century Leading and Learning initiatives, receive the latest information on using technology to create effective learning environments, receive the updated data on 21st Century Assessments, review bandwidth implementation requirements to ensure precise information and network with peers and the private sector.

When I tell you, “Welcome to the modern mobile world.”, your first thought might be “Well duh.”, but my point is bigger than that. Every day, our businesses and clientele are becoming more and more mobile.

Needless to say, that due to these facts, business meetings, events, and conventions have also become much more mobile. Both continuing and potential customers expect everything to very streamlined, easy, and efficient these days. Think about how often you check your phone a day. It’s our lifeline and the way we interact. This fact doesn’t change when you enter the halls of the next big business or tech convention.


So what is the best way to stay in the loop with all of the continuing trends and technology that your potential customer’s and clientele are using? Well to put it simply, just give the people what they want: convenience. There are a few ways to go about this as well..

Bridge The Gap Between You & The Consumer At Your Next Event!

The days of advertising events via posters and radio commercials are far gone. We no longer rely on such primitive methods to keep people in the loop. Our technology has advanced far enough to the point that now, we announce everything through social media. It goes even further than that, however. We now use just about every social media platform available to us to talk about what is happening during the events and even interact with the attendees of the event itself.


When you’re able to organize an event, and make it much more interactive, you’re bridging a gap between you and the attendees; which allows the potential customers to become more involved in what’s going on and more interested in what you’re offering.

The Social Media Effect

Take “sharing”, for example. Many of the social media apps that we use regularly are already being integrated into the event apps that we use to maximize the amount of people that the event coordinators reach. These apps are also growing in ways that will make peer-to-peer messaging, targeted announcements, and business contact exchange. This is making social media increasingly effective in reaching consumers and developing a brand.

Before the days of technology and social media utilization, there was no way to gather information and analyze all of the data gathered from the events. With the apps that we have at our fingertips now, we have the ability to gather all of that data in real-time. Event coordinators can now figure out which topics regarding the event are trending. We can see which speakers and aspects of the event are most popular. We can even get all of the poll and survey response statistics on the spot. All of that data can be used to analyze what was successful, and what didn’t work, in order to better engage the audience at the next event!

Large-Scale Events & Google Translate

When it comes to these large-scale tech events, we know that not everyone is going to speak our language, literally. Things get lost in translation sometimes, even with the best translators. A while back, Google introduced to us Google Translate. Since then many other apps have been taking notice of its success and have thus started to design features that include the same processes as Google Translate. Take the app, WordLens, for example. This app would actually translate text in real time via and augmented reality process. *But Google has now taken this app and integrated it into their Google Translate application. In fact, Google is working on an app that will translate voice, on top of text and even handwriting, in real-time!

The Future Of Advertising And Promotion Is Upon Us

The fact that all of these apps and social media platforms are slowly merging together is rapidly bridging the long-sought-after gap between participants and attendees. Our events are becoming more and more interactive as technology continues to further develop. Everything from Twitter to Facebook; and even Instagram, posts are giving attendees more of a feeling of participating. All of the platforms are being monitored live so that responses can be quick and effective. Even gamification has begun to be implemented in the newest event apps, that means you’ll be able to keep convention attendees at your booth longer!
